Is Paul Ince right when he says football clubs are racist because of a lack of black managers?

Last time somebody came out with that gem (might have been Ince)

gave John Barnes as an example, talk about shooting yourself in the foot,I think Ince will find that by and large if you are good enough you will get the job irrespective of anything else

    No.......

This is what bugs me when someone appoints a Racial/equalities Officer or whatever...

People should be given the job on merit.

ie, if that means that in a company 100% of people were either white/indian etc then so be it, if they are the best person for the job, then the candidate should get it.

What it only does is encourage in a scenario if say 999/1000 people were of a particular race/colour etc, to possibly emply the person who is the minority in order to upease the beady eyed equalities officer.

If you have a perfectly sound scoring/judging system in, then you should not need to monitor what ethnic origin anyone is....

    its all ********!

The number of black managers is far lower than it should be given the number of former black players.

Dunno the reasons for that tho.

Well, a lot of those black players are from overseas - they tend to go back home or to warmer climes at the end or near the end of their careers.

I personally believe there should be more women football managers, especially ones that look like Cherie Lunghi from 15 years ago.

There has never been one football manager with a Jeremy Beadle style stump like clawy hand. Make of that what you will.

Keith Alexander did a great job in the lower leagues but was never given a chance higher up.....Dunno if this means anything but have they been given a fair chance?

The reason there are so few black managers is that so few black players are interested in becoming Coaches or Managers.

I have the utmost respect for Ince as a manager taking on the Mac job but I think he should keep his trap shut.

We don't have that many black coaches at grassroots level either.
Racism doesn't come in to it.
