BARNSLEY skipper Paul Reid believes the debacle at Walsall can kick start the Reds to glory in 2006.
Speaking exclusively to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Paul said: "Tuesday night was totally unacceptable to be honest. We know that and our supporters who made the effort to travel all the way down to Walsall know that as well. They can feel very aggrieved that they paid their money to watch a Barnsley side and they got one which was nowhere near as good as it should be.
"You cannot keep saying that it was just one of those days because it has happened too often recently although on Tuesday it was the lowest we have been. It had been coming for a while and there were a few home truths aired in the dressing room after the game and again on Thursday morning. I am confident our supporters will see the right reaction from the lads against MK Dons.
"We are not in a crisis at the moment. We are under pressure because we know that we are a good side and we know we can achieve something this year.
"We have to make sure that Walsall is the wakeup call we needed. Something has to change and we have threatened to push on towards promotion and we have to achieve that. We do not want to drop off and finish outside the top six. That would be a total failure".
