top club captain,in the old school....face dunt fit...all the best paul.. (Y) whatever life brings you mate. (pint)
I think is more to do with him not being good enough for the Championship than his face fitting. He would be a regular starter with any League One or two club. All the best to the lad.
Not good enough for this league tho unfortunately. Can't blame SD for realising that. I'm fully behind the decision.
Here Here, always liked Paul but yeah i wish him all the best in the future! good defender but not for us!
Makes you wonder though why Davey still persists with others who are clearly not good enough for this league i.e. Odejayi Reid lost his place in the team when he got sent off against Colchester. Might have been a blessing in disguise looking back.
think the captaincy of a club in the championship was a step 2 far for him - every mistake was highlighted and usually cost a goal - like the southend cup game previous season - I personally would have liked to see him in the team without the captaincy as i believe he has the ability and desire to play at this level .His perforamance at cardiff will last long in the memory - good luck to Paul - he has earned his place in BFC folklore
I think you're wrong Davey obviously thought he was good enough for the championship last summer as he gave Reid a new contract.
Jay you're misunderstanding the process. You sign a player on a long term contract, then assess as to whether or not they're good enough. Personally I think Reid was signed purely because his face fit and it suited Davey's needs for trying to gel a dressing room that was understandably miffed at Ritchie's departure. Not much to do with football. What I don't get is that the majority of sensible and logical posters on this site have regularly, throughout the years, spotted and highlighted weaknesses in the side, regardless of the manager. I really don't understand why Davey is dividing the fans so much, it's either blind faith (which is mental) or nothing. You can't highlight obvious, glaring problems without someone making out Davey will be the best manager in the world one day. For the record: I obviously exclude Johnny Rainman from the logical and sensible posters.
