The best player I've ever seen and the best to ever play in the Premier League.

Cantona? Henry? Zola? Giggs? Shearer? Bergkamp? Its all just down to personal choice when it comes to choosing 1 player as best ever in PL. There have been many to choose from. I would go for Cantona.

    Scholes or Cantona?

Similar disciplinary record I would reckon (except for the fan kicking).

How can you compre Scholes to someone like Zola or Cantona?

Totally different players, different positions, etc.

    Scholes

Just like how he plays - no real flair but doesn't miss a pass, scored plenty of goals and still going strong.

    Pity he can't tackle.

That is part of why it is so difficult to choose 1 player as best ever in PL. Just down to personal choice. I was merely listing great players in the PL, not really comparing.

    I agree

he is a player I`ve admired during his career and is the kind of professional footballer that kids should aspire to be rather than the Rooneys and Gerrards of this world.

I always get the feeling he will quit football totally when he retires. He has shunned the limelight while a player. Fergie once said that he never goes on the team 'outings' as he prefers to spend his time with his family. That is why he quit England. He seems very quiet off the pitch, shy almost. No doubting he is a class footballer though. He will be minted so can just enjoy family life, he isn't bothered about being famous, he just earned a lot of money from playing the game he loved. Maybe I am wrong. Has he said he wants to coach/manage?
