Yes, it is a bit tempting. I saw them in that building, (then the Town & Country Club), supporting Sonic Youth. I think it was 1991... so 20 years ago pretty much.
tbh the venues are too big for my liking. I really don't like O2 venues, particularly Leeds. a tiny bit surprised that the brude has partnered with O2, but I get the reasons why
Already got my tickets for Leeds. The Brudenell have done a few gigs partnered with the O2, St Vincent and War on Drugs spring to mind.
Manc Apollo isn't too big, I think it's a nice mid-sized venue. Maybe biased as was my first ever gig venue. Granted not Brudenell (personal fave) sized for intimacy.
I’m up for that.. Love em!! Saw their ‘last ever’ gig in Brixton, donkeys back.. I think they’ve been out again since.
Unfortunately I only turned 18 in the first year of the new millenium, but I did manage to blur through the 2000s...
As I'm four years older than you, my blurring definitely started in the late 90's,probably continuing until the mid to late 00's!
Noticed Pavement are playing Barrowlands. I just came across an old Georgia Satellites ticket from 1990 at Barrowlands. £6.50 Wish every gig was that price now.
I still have a large on occasionally, but looking after a child in that state is seriously horrendous!
Tell me about it, I've got 4 of them and none of them accept that Daddy being hungover is an excuse not to scream like banshees, fight like cats and want want want all day.
yeah like I say, I get the reasons why. i saw St.Vincent at the brude, back in the day. one of my favourite gigs there. twas phenomenal
was at the o2 ritz in Manc on Saturday. probably one of the better ones. Sheffield is ok too I guess. I think it's the ale that makes me dislike em so much. choice of carlsberg, carling or strongbow. rank.
4 nights at the Roundhouse is a bit of an ask. There’ll be plenty of cheap tickets floating around near the time.. The Replacements didn’t quite sell out 2 nights & they hadn’t played for 20 years. I went to both. Absolutely amazeballs.. My favourite venue, so my have a jaunt down for that. If I’m free of ancient terriers..
Once went to see Trail of Dead at Ruby Lounge in Manchester. Nice little venue but no more by looks of it.
