Did some transaction with Paypal a week ago. Yesterday got an e-mail purporting to be from Paypal saying they had taken some money from my account by mistake and would refund if I gave them my bank account numbers. You can't be too careful.
I've been getting loads of stuff from PayPal saying I've ordered things and that they're on the way. No money has left my account though and I've forwarded every email I've received off them to the fraud department at PayPal
I always wonder where they get the info, I'm self employed while I study my masters degree and as soon as I do my self employment taxes every year I immediately get flooded with "you are owed a tax refund" scam emails. Makes me wonder if they work with them.
Had a email today also from apple saying I had to pay £36 for netflicks, got in touch with apple, told me it was a scam.
If your ever in doubt sign into you paypal account and look at the messages through there a lot safer... dont be clicking any links in emails to sign into anything though!!! I had an email to update my card details so i signed into paypal itself and checked my messages and i had the same message so i updated my details that way. A lot of emails asking for bank details are scams so please be wary! This was only last week; Newlyweds saved £45,000 deposit towards their dream first home - then lost everything in a cruel new online scam. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...000-dream-home-lost-devastating-new-scam.html
