I need help on reducing my page file usage.

Programes are now running very slowly at times, with some shutting down unnanounced ( I think due to memory issues)

Any tips to speed this up again or any software to help with RAM issues?

Currently it says its running the Pf usage is 852mb, with the line next to it (on task manager) right at the top of the graph)

If yer bang enough RAM in, it won't need to use the pagefile anyroad.

Not so much of an option at the moment unfortunately

I want to reduce the number of processes being run, but most of them listed mean nothing to me, besides the obvious - firefox, front page, excel etc

You've asked what I have been wondering today

I use an old laptop around the house mainly for wireless connection to the internet when I'm away from the my desktop machine. It only has a 366 mhz processor and 128 mb RAM but it was running ok until I allowed it to download the latest windows updates. One of the 28 updates it installed was Internet Explorer 7 and since then it's gone really slow. Would doubling the RAM make much difference to the speed or am I flogging a dead horse with a 366mhz processor. And how do you get to the memory modules on a laptop?

These should be used with caution....

...registry cleaners shouldn't be used as a 'black box'. The free ones are sometimes too efficient and delete useful files. I know Windy rates the Eusing and CCleaner (I think, apologies if I'm wrong) and hasn't had difficulties, but a trawl of the pc technical websites is worth while before you use them imho.
