Peaceful protest not allowed FFS

I'd wouldn't mind bumping into that brave man pushing the old dear around.

I don't doubt anyone's right to protest or an opinion.

However, when it comes to them climbing trees, sitting in the middle of roads or climbing on top of lorries, endangering themselves and OTHER people (causing massive tailbacks the other week) and affecting the lives of normal everyday folk it irritates me slightly. Personally I'd use a water cannon; quick and easy. Oh yeah, and while these people are protesting, don't the majority of them have jobs to go to etc…..

I always like posts like the one directly above me. People who stand for nothing, believe in nothing and tacitly approve of police action on the basis that it's 'getting in the way of ordinary people'.

By the time they find something to upset them, it will be too late.

 

To be fair, mate. I'm too busy at work to have many things to "upset me." Things that irritate me tend to be parents that don't take responsibility for their own kids behaviour ( a much bigger evil in society than fracking) and an education secretary that doesn't know very much about education and wants to turn it into a business.

Teachers protested (and were majorly maligned on here, I may add) but we didn't sit in the middle of f*cking roads and climb trees. You can argue (and I expect this from you) that parents were inconvenienced; they were given plenty of notice to be fair and none of the kids argued.

These people who are trying to save the environment from fracking for natural gas (which incidentally will create a lot of jobs) are probably the ones complaining about unemployment and high energy prices as we have to import it from Russia.

The Police are no longer the servants of the people. As we saw with the badger cull, the Police are now hired goons, the security guards of Tory policy.

 

its protest that got you your right to vote,that created democracy in the first place.Without protest of centuries we would still be doffin' the cap to the gentry.
I may not agree with most of what the environment tree hugging fraternity believe in but I'd defend their right to protest,always.The world is made up of opinions and if someone doesn't agree they've a right to protest and make their voices heard and unfortunately in this democracy we live in you don't always get heard around a bargaining table.

Disgusting behaviour. The police always think they are above the law, wheras they should be upholding the law.

 

Only watched the first part of the clip where they are moving the man who refuses to co-oporate but I think it's a tough one

If your job is to move somebody but they refuse to move and in fact are struggling and trying to make themselves a dead weight then what do you do? Is there ANY way to move that person without physically using force to move them?

I'm not defending the police or attacking them but I do have to ask what SHOULD they have done?

 

This government is determined to destroy the countryside and the wildlife that live there, all to line their own pockets and those of the cronies in high finance. British wildlife is in serious trouble, but say anything about it and your some hippy, dippy tree-hugger. When in actual fact, you are far more acquainted with death and destruction, than the average selfish twt reading the Daily Mail and thinking how this all affects him personally. These protestors should be thanked for the commitment to keep fracking out of our neighbourhoods. Yours might be next, you might have brown water coming out of your taps and no birds in your garden.

 

You are not alone in that opinion. Millions of Germans said the same thing throughout the 1930s.

Like it or not there is a difference between peaceful protest and causing an obstruction / public nuisance.

 

Get the German Shepherd out of the van and let that sort it out

 

That it is okay for the men in uniforms to suppress the 'other' minority group by any means. This is just the way things are. That we should accept their authority without dissent and not acknowledge the concerns and circumstances of the other group.

 

And who gave that opinion? You appear to have accidentally replied to my post where I asked a question without giving an opinion.

 

I'd love to raise my blood pressure a bit by reading Gloria Stitts' views on this.

 

A teacher that doesn't know grammar,can't spell AND can't copy
