Bowyer seems like a good shout. Don't know owt about Pemberton. Has he had any experience beyond assistant at Brizzle? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Its just been on SSN ticket that Pemberton will Johnson's no 2 at Bristol, so Nixon may be talking gonads.
Gary Bowyer would be an excellent shout. Good coaching pedigree (we are after a H.Coach after all) and he somehow managed to stabilise the absolute joke that is Blackburn under the Venkeys. Any man that survives there for 3 years deserves a bloody medal not just another job.
If we now have the infrastructure to promote within i'd rather we did that than overlook someone already here for promotion to give an outsider the chance to lead the team out at Wembley once if not twice. Really hope Wright and Hecky start with a win today to make it harder for them not to get it.
I agree for this season. I'd keep it in house. Next year might be different though. Need the best man for the job Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Normally when replacing managers we ought to look outside to shake things up. However. We are winning and we are playing well and on the up. At this point an internal promotion is likely best as it serves as continuity. That same internal person will already know what's happening behind the scenes and what is making them tick. So for once i have no issue with it.
I'd prefer to keep things as stable as poss this season as a priority tbf - if that means keeping and promoting Tommy Wright so be it. Players reaction today could be telling.
And the fans wants and don't want.. will change by what happens in todays game...whatever the plan is, stick with it win loose or draw.
Makes a change from the usual line about internal appointments being the cheap option Sent from my SM-T520 using Tapatalk
We're in uncharted territory. It's weird. As long as I can remember, we've been in a $hit position, sacked the manager and wanted the internal staff to go with him. Very different. People aren't really that fussed that Johnson's gone, we've had a cash injection, a Wembley final, stable squad and formation, on a brilliant run and an exciting end of season to look forward to. Continuity is what we need for the rest of the season. I say stick with the people who have helped get us here, then plan for next season Obviously if we get dicked today, people will be demanding change.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Totally. I think it stems from the constant change and merry go round of both staff and players. We seem to be trying to be constant for a change and more long term planning rather than short termism. We aren't totally with it yet. But an internal promotion will align with that. Otherwise a new guy cones in and wants to replace half of what we have... Cheep option it is then
