Superstar players on superstar wages = no bottle. Gerrard & Lampard or Hayes & Kay ? We know the answer don't we folks ? Just don't ever want to hear them spouting off in the press ever again. Spineless...gutted & nuff said.

    Spineless?

They volunteered to step up in front of millions of fans to face one of the best penalty savers in the world today and he saved them. I wouldn't call that spineless.

    RE: Spineless?

Thats what they're paid vast amounts of money to do. Just remember Hayes, Kay, Heckingbottom & Shuker. True heroes, TRUE BOTTLE.

    I'd suggest the spineless ones

Are those who cower away from the responsibilty of taking a penalty kick . I remember during the 1992/93 season we played Grimsby Town in the League Cup and it went to penalties . A young , inexperienced forward ( who had only just made his league debut ) volunteered to take one , but our £150 000 striker from Leeds United chickened out and refused to step up to the plate . The kid missed his penalty and we were knocked out . The two players in question were Andy Liddell and John Pearson . I know which one I called a spineless coward !!!

I know your point exactly. But our continuing losses on penalties in major finals suggest serious mental weakness. For supposed world class players to come up short every time is not coincidence. I defy anyone to tell me different.

Euro 96 against Spain is the only success I can think of .

    Good spot.

Don't tell me we didn't know that. I'd rather have got rid of all the decent players - and Frank f*ckin Lam * flipping overrated can't hit a herd of bovines with any kind of stringed instrument flipping pard, thrownn Walcott on and gone for it.

He played for penalties. For f**k's sake.

Bye Sven. Hope you get the Wycombe job. You useless lovely person.
