PENISTONE REDS

Penistone Reds meeting held at Crystal Palace Pub, Thurlstone.

    Thursday 15th May 2008

The first meeting of the Penistone Reds was attended by 15 members. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how the club was to operate. The word ‘club’ refers to Penistone Reds. The following was agreed:-

1 - It was to run on a not for profit basis for the benefit of the members.
2 - A monthly meeting was to be held on the first Monday in the month at 8.00 pm prompt. Ad hoc meetings would be called as necessary (e.g. on 16th June when fixtures are released).
3 - The Crystal Palace was to be the meeting place for the club and for any events organized by the club. E.g. BBQs, DVD nights etc.
4 - Anyone is welcome to join the club – certain individuals may not be allowed to join (Pub Watch etc).
5 - A fee of £10 per adult was to be the annual charge for membership. Under 16’s are free.
6 - All monies were to be paid into a bank account which will need 3 signatures to issue a cheque. No accounts are to be kept as monies are to be paid in and withdrawn for next game. Any surplus left at the end of year to be used for free away tickets, travel or events.
7 - The club will have to have a constitution for legal purposes.
8 - At the 16th June meeting, members will be expected to give some indication which matches they are likely to attend. This will help to plan the cheapest method of travel to away games. It was suggested that we approach Globe for away coach games.
9 - It was agreed that a meeting should be set up with Barnsley FC as soon as possible, to discuss links with each other.
10 - Most members were season ticket holders. For those who are not, the offer was made for the home tickets to be bought for any game. The location, number, type and monies would all have to be provided 10 days in advance.
11 - Away game tickets and transport costs would also have to be paid 10 days in advance.
12 - Once the supporters club is up and running a website will be established. Sponsorship is to be sought locally for this to cover domain fees.

    ACTIONS:

Bank Account to be set up - Rob Letherland

Constitution to be drafted - Rob Letherland & Barry Curtis

Meeting with Barnsley FC - Howard Robinson, Barry Curtis & Arthur Wilson

Setting up of website - Paul Robinson & Howard Robinson

    Next meetings

2 June, 16 June, 7 July, 4 August, 1 September, 6 October, 3 November, 1 December, 5 January etc. All 8.00 pm starts at Crystal Palace (Thurlstone). All welcome.

That's a resigning offense surely? Needs sacking if not.

Sounds like a few people are concerned about is this 10 pound issue - which as you will read will get put back in. Guess if they all show at next meeting saying it might be a wrong idea we (the club) go from there.

Can we concentrate on all the good things we have discussed - cheers

Are you reading this messageboard in FLAT mode

cos i was responding to DB3000 who seems obsessed with poking his nose into your new supporters club.

Good luck with it all anyway.

The only part of your message I agree with is the good luck part. I hope it's a success for them and the reason for so many questions is because I might be interested in this great new venture and want to know as much as possible about it. I aren't having a go at them, but you can believe that if it makes you feel better.

I think we have a constitution somewhere

But it involves gin, toothpasteand places we can't take Gerry.

And if we tried to charge £10 we'd get laughed at. Good luck with it- you're already more organised than us and you're only 10 minutes old....

Bet you don't have your own pin badges tho! :)

membership card offer was politely declined - good idea about pin badges..........hmmm gives me an idea ;-)

Like I say, those who were there thought a tenner would help but if another 30 come out who werent there saying p!ss off we would have to think again. The beauty of it all is we can change our mind, it isn't like Gordon Brown has announced it as policy to the nation :)

cannot see a problem with the £10. obviously we are going to need a small amount of cash to get up and running properly. we will also be raising funds as we go along such as domino cards and as been stated all funds left towards end of season will go towards reduced tickets prices for members or free travel to last away games, so the members are going to benefit, no ones going to be taken for a ride as some nosey interferers seem to think. if youve nowt to do with the new organization keep yer bloody noses out............there.

    They're collecting elbows?

I though it was a football supporters club, not some sick body part collection society. The ******* weirdos.
