Why blame Davey over this Howard malarky? he obviously wanted to leave the club last season, so don't blame Davey for letting our star player go. We will undoubtedly get some de-niro for him.

Only good thing about this is that it weakens daveys position a bit more, 2 games to go

Best manager we have had since Wilson. SD loves the club and is totally committed to bringing sucess in the form of a better championship club.

It could save his job. Howard leaving obviously means we have got to play someone else. We all know Howard wasn't performing.

Davey wasn't taking no **** from Howard & sent him on his way, another good thing is that Davey is letting our star player go, before his contract runs out, so he is doing something right for once.

PC and SD have put their heads on the block.......

This situation should have been sorted out long ago...........and never should have involved a local rival

...........if we continue to struggle to score goals and slip further and further towards relegation.........who are the fans going to start shouting for?

    1) Pat Cryne
    2) Simon Davey
    3) Brian Howard

Yeah I agree, Howard became well known last season and decided that he could go somewhere better. Whether it was for money or to further his career I don't know. But if he said that he didn't want a new contract even before we offered one, then that looks to me like it isn't about money because he didn't care what we were going to even offer him. He would probably have hoped for a team a little bigger/better than Shef Utd, not a massive step up from Barnsley really. Bottom line, if he wants to leave, let him go and get as much money as we can. Missed an opportunity in the summer to get more cash though.

Also, £30million compensation, surely they should be going for players a little better than Howard.
