    whether he knows the division, whether he has the coaching qualifications etc. but the one most important factor is whether the players will play for that manager. You need a guy who the players can relate to and can respect. Amanager the players would be prepared to run through a brick wall for. That's what we should be looking for in a manager. It's all about togetherness and organisation and trust at this level. The difference between success and failure is just so very small that getting that liitle bit extra from your players makes all the difference.</p>

    Easy to say it mindbut I thinkwe just need to cocentrate more on personality this time than qualifications.</p>

    I think that is one thing that Davey did have going for him - backing of the players. Certainly before this season according to my source who's now playing his football in germany.

    It looked to me like that backing, or at least the belief, had gone on Saturday.

    The players looked as if they'd given up hope from the moment Reading equalised.
