Oasis are and always will be popular! People keep going on about them doing Beatles covers but The Beatles did that themselves - how many Chuck Berry songs did they cover? Everyone has their influences and The Beatles were obviously a major influence on the Gallaghers songwriting, so what? Thats just the way music is and always has been.
I've seen Oasis twice but unfortunately can't afford it this time round. The only band i've ever seen that get close to Oasis on stage are The Who and they've had 44 years of practise!
They'll be around for years to come and will probably leave as big a stamp on music as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and many other bands before them!

Oasis dont have any musical guts to really change their music(its always nice and safe) and now sound very old fashioned.

If they had packed in after the first 2 albums they would've been legendary now. The problem is they've not altered their music at all and now only really appeal to their old fans.

Tha obviously knows f all bart music, Oasis are and always will be musical greats, you dunt come out wi some of the tunes they have produced and not be labelled 'Legendary'. They come back time and time again wi original belters and have always stuck by the same type of music whilst being slightly versatile, true greats and characters at it aswell, Does anybody know what kind of arrangement dee dah arena have? Is it just a case of ringing up and being patient or what.
    Regards

I must have seen them on an off night then because at the Manchester City Stadium a couple of years ago they were decidedly average

I agree they've done some cracking songs, but in those first 2 albums. Name me anything they've done since that's on the same level as Morning Glory or Def Maybe?

And I don't think you can now call their music 'original' mate.

Yeh i'll agree they are debatably the best two albums they've released but 'Be here now' and 'The Masterplan' are cracking albumbs not to mention my ipod which has 20 or so Oasis in the top playlist that I just dunt get bored of listening to. Dunt get me wrong some of there songs and albums have been average but what bands dont have average stuff?

    "not to mention my i-pod"

Is that a real gauge of greatness?

My father in law has some right old **** on his favourite playlist.

    I haven't even got an i-pod

So all the bands I like must be ****. Well, they certainly haven't sold as many records as Oasis. Collectively.

I love Oasis BUT I have to say U2 would better them having seen U2 numerous times, they are supreme.

I actually quite like Oasis, not in an obsessive way or anything. I've never seen them or bought an album, but have been given their greatest hits.

I'd like to point out though, that I've never listened to single new release of theirs and thought, "blimey the Beatles have reformed".

    Liam's a **** though.
