Is that it? My TV is bigger It's too small Should've stuck with the old one Good old BFC, f*cked up again etc etc etc blah blah blah
Surely it's just people taking the Piss isn't it? Bit of banter. If anyone seriously doesn't think this is a massive improvement on what we previously had then their heads are empty. Personally think it looks decent. I'll be able to read the score and see the time. I don't need any more bells or whistles than that. Nice one Patrick and BFC.
It's clearly miles better than the old one given it didn't work had had passed is lifespan by at least 10 years....BUT....you'd have hoped to move into new territory with a large video wall.
What's the benefit of video walls over scorecards and what's the cost of them/planning constraints/construction times? Genuine questions as have no idea.
Good God I hate people using the word "moaning". That's right, I'm moaning about someone using the word moaning to moan about other people moaning.
It's all a matter of personal taste I suppose. Some people want a massive, video wall kind of thing. I'm not interested in that. When I am in my ESL seat, lapping up the super football that my team are playing against the millionaires, I don't want to be distracted by something flickering away throughout the match. My focus is the pitch, not the advertising facility. It beggars belief that anyone can complain about something that has not even been switched on yet! So long as it displays the information in a bright, clear format then surely that is all we need. The score, the time left in the match, an occasional marketing message - who needs anything else? I suppose a massive tv screen in each corner showing highlights as and when they happen would be something to aspire to, but I can live without it.
We seem to have an attitude of doing the bare minimum when it comes to our customers. We don't provide what is desired by the customers or what will increase our customer base, we do the absolute bare minimum that is needed to scrape by
Why do we want it to show the score we know the score we are at the match.what I want it to show is scores from other games throughout the match instead of keep having to get my phone out.
Or you could argue that the club does what it can AFFORD to do. So long as BFC survives longer than I do then I will be happy with that. You can't say that the majority of fans want this, or want that. How do you know what I want? How do you know what anyone beyond your immediate circle wants? Just for argument's sake I want a reasonably successful football club to support. One that I will continue to be proud to say is MY team. I don't want dancing girls at half time or jumping, pumping video wall entertainment or over commercialism. There's enough of that on tv, interrupting a programme I'm watching. (Thank goodness for recording boxes and the fast forward button!). I can't wait for this new season to start. You clearly have issues that get in the way of enjoying your football.
Prince, you miss the point completely. It's not about what you want or even what I want. It's just obvious in today's world that you need to present a modern comfortable stadium with facilities you get at other grounds. The scoreboard has been an embarrassment for years and certainly raises a laugh if ever an outsider joins me for a match. The new screen looks like a big missed opportunity to join the 21st century but I guess it fits in with most of what passes for customer relations at Oakwell. Tellies in the concourses, bars and food tell the same story.
Really? Ok, if you say so Just trying to point out that having a football club to support throughout my whole lifetime is more important than the size or quality of a scoreboard. You're another one who is criticising it before it's been switched on. We might all be pleasantly surprised next Tuesday when we see something that actually works, and that you can read from anywhere in the ground. I'll give it a cursory glance now and then, but the main focus of my attention will be, as always, the match itself.
More advertising revenue , it's always baffled me that Rugby clubs can afford these mobile video screens on gates of a couple of thousand but we can't ...... But who cares it's Pie Night on Tuesday !!
