are so very quick to get on a player`s back, ala Colgan. Why dont we get behind our players instead of pulling them down. All plauers have a dip in form, Gordon Banks didnt stop every shot at him, Dino Zoff let goals in , Peter Shilton let shots past him. Colgan has saved us a lot more points than he has cost us this year, but because he doesn`t come and catch every cross, he is castigated for it. Banks , Shilton ,Seaman, all were hesitant at coming for crosses. Grobbelar came for every one and he was slated for that. Get off Colgans back and show some loyalrty. Lucas is not match fit, he is injury prone, not the best keeper around, if he was why was he without a club for so long? Get behind our team and leave off slagging them, it does no-one any good.
I don't think people were quick to get on his back. It's been a fair while now since he had a good run of form and it's only now a lot of fans are having a go at him. I don't see Lucas as injury prone either because take away one bad injury (which many people have in a career) he's not bad at all. And if he's not match fit we shouldn't have signed him. Colgan is one of the best keepers we have had for years. However i bet he would be the first to admit his current form is poor and that he cannot rest on past glories.
(blagger)Colgan is a poor Goalkeeper in the sense of goalkeeping, but a good shot stopper. I think Lucas is a better all round goalkeeper then Colgan despite coming from that massive/poo club down the road.
Well said madmark62. I jus posted sumat si,ilar on the thread about "Have you enjoyed this season". Agree our fans are fickle. We need to get behind everyone of em, or they'll sure as hell go down. We play ten times better wen the fans are singing for them, not shouting at them. Remember Play-off final. We wo a lot louder than Swansea fans, altho we took 11,000 less fans. Thats why we won. Cos they took the motivation from our Singing, getttin behind em, not getting on their backs!
You're dilluded mate - Don't try & compare Colgan to Shilton, Zoff, Seaman & Banks.... ....They might have had the odd bad game, this guy gives me the collywobbles everytime the ball goes anywhere near him EVERY WEEK!! - thats how the defenders will feel too - there's no wonder they look jittery at times - simply they have no confidence in him so resort to firefighting tactics. He's the worst keeper in the division bar none - used to be a good shot stopper, not so good at that these days!! NEVER commanded his area so no change there.... ......What's he actually good at? answers on a postcard, cos I'm just not getting it! Colgan = (clown)
Fat bloke sat in front of me on Setdi. "Fecking b4stard Colgan" "That Irish lovely person is w4nk" "Beaten at his near post - he's fecking rubbish" I'm sure his 10 year old son, who was sat right beside him, was really proud. Mind you - the gret fat fecker would've looked better than McCann in midfield.
Fat scrubbers should be banned from having kids. That would sort this country out. When I take my 11 year old nephew I try to set an example. I attempt to explain what is going on & make the day enjoyable. The fat, ugly, specky eyed, genetic outcast in front of me has obviously decided that he wants his kids to be as obnoxious & stupid as he is. Don't get me started on parents at kids matches either.
RE: Fat scrubbers should be banned from having kids. Then its just a genearation of moanin sods who do nowt but drag the club down. Sam kind of guy who sits behind me in Upper east, does nothin but winge all the time. Even wen we were beatin Hull 3-0, he was critical of everything. Muppets!
RE: Fat scrubbers should be banned from having kids. I'll go even further. If I was in charge of this country - the criteria for being able to have kids would be as follows: (1) Must have worked for at least 85% of adult life (2) Must have a bedroom for each child, plus a spare - for Aunties (3) Must have an IQ above 120 (4) Must have a house worth at least the national average (5) Must have the ability to locate own ribs (6) Must not smell like Stork SB (7) Must not have a record for loving kids (8) Must not be Welsh (9) Must not have more than 5 shows programmed into their sky planner (10) Must not be ginger I'd sort the feckers out straightawaynow.
RE: Fat scrubbers should be banned from having kids. If you fail on (2) would you have to get rid of a surplus kid?
Yes. There's good news & bad news though: Bad news - the child will be put in a big mincer - then made into Spag Bol for the scrubbers without kids who don't work. Good news - you get to choose which of your children gets slaughtered. I think it's pretty fair.
Colgan makes less mistakes in a season than the rest of the team does in a single match The other 10 players are paid to keep the ball away from our goals anyway, They are not doing a very good job of it either.
RE: You're dilluded mate - Don't try & compare Colgan to Shilton, Zoff, Seaman & Banks.... I may well be DELUDED but I am definitely not DILLUDED. I think you may be one of those idiots that think that just cos we signed a backup keeper we should use him , no matter what he is like. Lucas scared the hell out of me when he came on and dropped the cross straight away.
RE: Colgan makes less mistakes in a season than the rest of the team does in a single match can't understand how you say people are jumping on Colgans back straight away because I personally think that people have been very patient with him as his form has been pretty poor for a while.Yes hes made some good stops but then dropped a bollock thats cost us a needless goal. His distribution of the ball has been getting increasingly worse and he must be a nightmare for his defenders his command of his box is poor compared to other keepers he rarely comes out for crosses and although he appears nailed to his line 8 or 9 times out of 10 he then suddenly comes out. That been said I have never been one for giving players personal stick during games because its no help to anybody although in Colgans case its often involuntary stick ie a collective intake of breath or groan at his hesitancy.
