They have now woken up to the fact that there is no strategy. There is no long term plan. There never was. The closest thing to a plan was getting back into the championship at the first opportunity. That was Danny's brief and he would have known that. Unfortunately he was failing to meeting that target by some distance - his dismissal was inevitable. In the current climate it's a surprise he's lasted this long. Football is a results based, cut throat industry. It brings riches and rewards but it is also unforgiving. That is the nature of the business and BFC is no different. People need to accept this and stop living in some fantasy world where someone gets five years to get it right. It will never happen.

Grow sone backbone, take a look in the mirror and get yourself done to a Oakwell on 21st February.

If we run our club with no soul it will be soul less and empty shell and thsts what it's become. The only way a small town club eith a small fanbase can survive in any league above the one we are in is by either spending daft money or doing things differently. So if we are not doing anything differently we condemn ourselves to league 1 or lower permanently. Some backbone would be to analyse how others operate and see what you can do differently to gain an advantage. A model favoured by a man we both admire in Wenger. I will be there for the rest of the season (I've paid and I'm tight) beyond that probably not. I suspect I'm not alone.

The club lost its essence when we went into administration. I have been kidding myself that we can get it back. We can't its gone. We had success by being different by having a chairman in John Dennis that saw a vision of how a small club could succeed. That is gone. We are being run into the ground following the model you outline
If you are happy with that fine. Different strokes for different folks.

You won't be surprised to hear that I don't agree with you on this CT, I'm in line with Jimmy C and his feelings on the matter. What I would be interested to hear is what you define as 'some distance' because God help the next managers on the BFC conveyor belt if you are right. They, like Danny, won't stand a chance and I won't be there to witness it.

    Nail hit firmly on head.

It's been like it for as long as I can remember.

Managers who get results reap the rewards with adulation from the fans.

Managers who lose games on a regular basis feel the wrath of the fans and are discarded like empty cans if they don't stop the rot.

3 yr or 5 yr plans are pie in the sky.

The only plan any owner has is to win football matches.

When the losses start to outweigh the wins the inevitable happens and that is where the club are now.

I personally stopped going, apart from the odd games, because I became sick and tired of watching tepid uninspired tripe.

I will be back on the 21st February.

Meanwhile let's blow Crawley out of the water tomorrow.

Attack and be positive from the 1st whistle.

Aye you'll be back for a game until we lose then it will be Burton out.

If we get promoted in the next few years we will come straight back down then the bloke who took us up will bring us back down and be sacked regardless of context. Can't wait.

So results are all that matter. We get promoted win every single game. Next season come Christmas in the league above we have let's say 5 points. What do you think happens to the manager. Will we go ok we have the lowest budget in the league and this chaps 46 game unbeaten run clearly shows he knows what he's doing let's stick with him or will numpties line you be going boo Burton/whoever out. I suspect we both know the answer.

    Results are King.

But if you play better teams and lose with the correct application from the players that's fine.
    Can't win em all.

But when we have the shambles of the last 6 months it becomes tiresome!

The shambles is from administration to now. You are aware that the most successful teams don't swap their manager every 5 minutes. Chaps like yourself would have had Fergie sacked in his first season.

Results aren't king at all. If they were every football fan would just support Manure or Chelsea. You support a team that will never win anything ever (other than possibly the Johnsons Paint). The last time we had a winning team was 1912.

In my scenario. When we lost 15 nil at home to a newly relegated Leicester but tried really hard. Doubt you would be supporting our manager.

I was aware that the most successful teams don't change their manager every 5 minutes is because that manger is doing a good job.

Did Alex Ferguson do a good job immediately? In fact his initial record was worse than Big Fat Rons. Steve Davis at Crew unlikely to get sacked even if they go down because he is successfully within certain parameters as was Dario Gradi before him)

There is no long term plan, if we stuck with danny and in 18 months we scraped promotion, he would still have been sacked halfway through the Championship season when we were struggling. May as well get rid now and bring someone in who doesn't bore us to death

If danny had been kept in charge I wouldn't have got a ST next season, its been a waste of money this one.

For the first time this season im actually looking forward to going to the next game.

I can cope with losing, as long as we give it a go and play well. We havent even played well when we have won this season.
