The 'best' thing is...

When 2 players raise you out of a decent hand before the flop as surely they must have something good...

Then they both check all the way down to the end.

    Grrrrrrrrr.

One guy this morning checked all the way through on a full house, then had the temerity to show his hand to prove he wasn't bluffing. People were folding on any bet, and some of them even folded their small blind when it would have been 1 v 1.

Utter *****. Unfortunately, I got so angry I started doing daft things and, inevitably, called all-in on a bluff when someone had two kings and hit a third on the flop...

Believe me I know exactly how you feel!

The other type of player is one that goes all-in with nothing every hand and when you finally get a good hand and call it they hit 2,5,6 on the flop when they had a 3,4 in their hand.

But poker is a mathematical game journo...

Played over a length of time and not just one game.

If you play proper poker based on your percentage to win then over time mugs like them will lose money hand over fist and you'll win more often.

I know its gutting in that one instance however over time you will prosper.

    Indeed, that's true.

I've learnt that but it's annoying when it comes off for them!

    I know...

I've been playing online poker for 4 years at a rate of about 40 hours per week.

I'm suprised I still have the same monitor after all the times some donkey hits with rags against my Bullets or Kings.

I've learnt to switch of these days and just stay patient!

You know what else I hate? Folding on a 7/2 unsuited, only for the flop to drop two 7s and a 2.

Almost as infuriating as golf this game!

    Been playing heads-up all week.

$5 tables -seven game winning streak!! :$ Finally my trip 4's got beat - some numpty hit a full-house on the river. Don't have the patience for longer games these days.

Anyone tried Fred's 'all-in or fold' games? Now they are mad!! (clown)

Not yet. Still not confident with my heads-up ability yet. Still playing $1 tables till I'm sure I've got the feel of things. Won a handful of tournaments so far, but not enough to make me think I have a clue what I'm doing.

I absolutely love heads-up. Throwing your opponent 'off the scent' when they're trying to gauge your style of play is such a hoot. General rule is aggression, aggression, aggression in h/up, and most folk you play will raise every hand from the off. I fold quite a few early doors, which seems to unsettle them into getting a bit too aggressive. Then take their chips. :D

Had enough today. Lady Luck's been taking the piss. Totally outplayed the people in the last tournament until 3 go all-in at same time. That leaves 3 of us with this total numpty as chip leader. He goes all-in again when I've got AK suited. So I think: I'll have some of that. Laugh my arse off when I see a 4 2 unsuited. Flop drops the other three 4s. Just to rub it in, next two cards are an ace and a king. Like, thanks.
