we haven't been playing it every minutes of every game away from home. Often we've been playing 4 at the back. for large spells at Blackpool for example Barnsley had Kennedy in the middle at the bottom of the diamond. We also had Golbourne in the middle late on to try and stop Ince. Barnsley often had four at the back at Stadium MK too.
You're right we have shaped with 4 at the back at times. BUT there has always been the option of the player at the base of the diamond (Kennedy or Sir Bob) to drop in to make a 3 so the fullbacks are free to attack.
yes of course. What i'm saying his p72. People keep going on about this 532, we have played 4 at the back and done quite well.
I'd say we've been playing 4 at the back more often than 5. Kennedy started at LCB against Blackpool but then went to CDM. Hassell started CB against MK Dons but then moved to CDM. I think it's because we don't need 3 CBs against 1 striker when they're playing 4-5-1/4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1. It leaves us a bit light in the middle because Etuhu and Perkins have had to help out the Wing Backs when their Full Backs push forward.
Can't disagree. But in the Wolves game we were a shambles for the 1st 20. Maybe proper credit needs to be given to Wolves, they were right at it from the off.
Here are my thoughts on 532 http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showth...l-the-BFC-footballer-Bobby-Hassell-the-person
