Really intrigued by what all the previous Hillcroft Doubters/Haters would think if he / they went to Bolton or Blackburn. Will you be pleased? Would you gladly let him take Wiseman, Dagnall, Done, McNulty, Golbourne, Crainie, Dawson, Perkins et al.........ie all the lower league *****, with him?
You know who you are and you hardly made him feel welcome when he started and when he had a bad run. I'm guessing you probably wouldn't give a flying ferk if they went. Mission accomplished from your point of view?
........or do you consider yourselves to be converted now? Just interested "like".
Oh and btw I'm not trying to prove anything.....just wondering whether you'd sit back and think "mebbe next time we have a chance to develop and build, I'll try and be a bit more patient "
I do hope this helps reev.

Maybe the ones who wanted Hill out (to be fair there wasn't a lot of them) will realise what we've lost when we end up with some tap-end like Russell Slade. Of course it will be too late by then but some will be happy knowing they've got what they wanted.

Are all your posts aimed at the Hill haters?

    Not trying to prove anything...

My arse. That's one of the biggest I told you so posts for a long time.

Just for the record tonight has only been the 3rd game I've been to this season so you can ignore me as one is not a proper fan.

Ps I don't know why it's quoted Gordy Owen, I flipping replied not quoted... Bloody iphone

Can't speak for Mrreev (whatever games Mr C is playing in his own mind!) but I don't think I'll shock anyone if I say I was a doubter. Actually, to be fair, my doubts were as much about the club's attitude last term, and their determination to force 'FFP' on us before any other club had to embrace it. I think the signings this season indicate they realise how close that strategy brought us to the drop, and the new recruits this term have been considerably more ambitious.

As for Hill and Flicker themselves - yes, I am won over. I have been mightily impressed with the style of the home performances this season, and the Birmingham game was to my mind the finest display I've seen (live or televised) by a Reds side in my 44 years of watching them. That style has flowed from fitness, discipline, and playing the game the right way, i.e. pass and move (more 'move' please). Even though we have players now of ability, that can only reflect very very well on the management and coaching set up.

Will Hill go to Blackburn? No way. That is a Premiership-winning club who are only 5 months out of that league. Keith and Flicker are still coming to terms with the Championship. The fact of their inexperience, and that Keefy likes to do things his way mean that Venky's will not gamble on him. It would be the wrong move for Keith in terms of the pressure it would bring.

Would I take a view on a manager in the early days again? Absolutely. I pay my money (or sometimes choose not to) and I'm as entitled to express an opinion as much as the next man. Anyone taking a gaffer's job (in any walk of life) has to have a thick skin, and Keith was not universally loved at Rochdale. For now though, he can take very justifiable pride in having proved the doubters (including me) wrong!
