Whining about having to play a semi final after European fixture. Seriously get lost!! All the money, all the resources. Here’s a suggestion - Less European games!! i absolutely hate the way the game is going.
They played out of their skins on Wednesday vs Real and did extra time; he talked about how physically and emotionally they were shattered. Wish we had such a passionate and supportive manager.
I really don’t care about Man City. Their players are remunerated handsomely enough. They have enough players, huge budget, state of the art facilities. Amazing that he is not taking issue with the ever growing European timetable? No, just that everyone in the domestic league should adapt. It’s seriously wrong. I almost wish the “big boys” would just sod off to Europe and never play in domestic football again.
I think his main point was that other clubs who didn’t play in midweek are playing tomorrow but City had to play today.
The players are human beings with feelings and energy levels no matter what they are paid. I enjoy watching them personally and think Pep is a great manager. I got back from Blackpool in time to see their late goal, was worth watching.
It was an enjoyable match, both sides attacking al! game. Though Pep could have a starting eleven of players that didn't or barely played midweek and still have got through!
He’s a brilliant manager. However, it’s just unrealistic for him to expect the fixture list to revolve around his club. The issue is trying to play in two leagues in one season. Something has to give. Not the domestic fixture list in my opinion.
He's a drugs cheat and a hypocrite happy to turn a blind eye towards human rights abuses when it suits his bank account. I wouldn't want him anywhere near our club.
I’m not a big fan of pep for a few reasons but he was right here. They played on Wednesday whereas none of the other semi finalists did. Why didn’t they just have the Man U cov game today and theirs tomorrow. Not unreasonable surely?
Wednesday to Saturday is normal in football. I have no idea why the FA planned the semis as they did but 100% it will be down to TV and £. But whilst Pep and his pampered boys earning millions and having access to the best medical professionals, there are players with other full time jobs at non league teams playing 3 games a week to try and fulfil their clubs’ fixture lists to avoid fines/ penalties. That is tough. Sorry, but I have no sympathy.
So if a Barnsley manager was saying the same thing if it happened to us you would have no sympathy then either? I mean I don’t understand why we have games called off because us or the other team have 3 players called up for international games. We have big enough squads to compete still.
No. Get on with it. Saturday / Wednesday is a normal fixture list in professional football. Local Women’s team I know (obvs unpaid) have had to play Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday to fulfil fixtures in time. All have jobs, families etc.
I think out of the all managers moaning about it, Pep is probably one who doesn't do it as often to be fair. When compared with Arteta & Klopp he's like a mouse. I like Thomas Frank but he moaned about it last week, yet Brentford will have played about 12/15 games less than Peterborough come end of the season. I especially don't understand why managers who aren't in Europe moan. Unfortunately it's instances like this, the Frank one I mention, Klopp & Arteta constantly, why they've scrapped FA Cup replays. It's a disgrace. Big clubs catered for.
Yeah, it’s unfair on people trying to earn a living to expect them to turn out 4 times a week without pay. ;-)
