Sometimes managers get jobs at clubs, when expectation is high or they have took over from their previous incumbent still in a decent league position and all well behind the scenes ie lost last 4 but still in play offs. These types of jobs are difficult and fans are still demanding and instant success is a priority. Here we have a job where, lets face it, were on our ar$e, rock bottom, worst in at least 25 years, club in turmoil. For me the risk reward element is massive. What risk is involved? Taking over a basket case club, which everyone knows, so failure could be easily swept under the carpet. But the reward for the right manager with balls is gonna be massive, fan adulation, peer respect, not to mention individual satisfaction. You could put a chimp in charge and results and performances couldnt get any worse but if a gutsy manager who relishes challenges fancies this one, hes got the chance to be a club legend...
we were saying something similar, somebody who commands/demands respect who gets even half decent results preferably in decent style would be under no pressure for ages
It's the complete opposite. A manager with balls wants full control to do it his way. What we're after is someone who will come in and work in the direction the board has set and within its constraints. What that is we don't know, but it's what we want.
Completely agree with op. Probably our best pull at the moment. If someone can come in and take us from 18th to 8th, they'll look a hero.
Yes the boards 3 year plan! Seriously are you suggesting a yes man? I bet there of plenty but that suggests a young inexperienced one.
Who did robins rub up the wrong way? He is the person you're talking about isn't he? The only guy to tell the board that he wasn't going to instantly go along with their every whim and (in his opinion) poor decisions
They want a puppet on strings, probably the reason why Wilson was sacked because he wanted to do stuff his way. Still can't believe we sacked him what on earth were they thinking?!
