Danny set up only way he could with Lita on his own up top on his own and 5 in midfield. Think this helped defence out against a class team. Two young fullbacks take a bow! Jennings exasperating, Hourhaine not at races, Berry no more than ok. But well done all young lads, never like losing but think we did ok (im just trying to pick out the positives) Come on Danny and Ben bring them players in lads!! Ps Put this in perspective, very experienced championship players on loads of Wonga versus kids! end of
I put this game into perspective before a ball was kicked and their was still no excuse for the lack of nous/tactics out there today. Jennings not exasperating in my opinion, but he did at least try to show initiative. Hemmings god damn awful. Lita tried to lead the line, but as at Preston last week, when he did hold the ball,there was no body there.
I like Jennings, a lot, he has got that something, Im not saying hes bad or anything like that but im exasperated coz he does the hard stuff then fluffs his lines. Thing is he is by far the most inventive player we have, I just want more end product, Just cant put my finger on why we don't see more of the good, its like he's playing on 65%. There were far worse players today and passing was woeful
I thought we tried but we just weren't good enough. At times we were very sloppy, and we got a little lucky in the first half that they missed some clear cut chances. In the 2nd half I thought we defended better and yet conceded 2 goals. The first was laughable and could be attributed to Hourihane who was very poor today in my opinion. The 2 full backs were our best 2 players in my opinion, Smith in particular looked very good for me.
