Wath Red's comments in an earlier post, would suggest a form of supporter snobbery, because people have other, more pressing issues, like, finances, families, work, you know? the more mundane rituals of everyday life, we and our thoughts are treat with contempt, I would love to attend away games more often, but as with most folk I prioritise, now back in the 70's and 80's matches could'nt come fast enough, Barnsley Football Club is as dear to me as it is to you, so I will have my say Wath lad, cut the snobbery.
RE: People who go to away matches.......... What makes you think that? They just love the club and support more than them who dont.
RE: People who go to away matches.......... Thats true they are loyal supporters who love the club but that doesn't mean people who stick to oakwell love the club any less. Snobbery is a good word to describe that attitude.
Personally...... i prefer fans that go to home matches instead of away matches. More money to our club, more intimidating atmosphere for away team etc.
I think his point was ..... ..... that lots of people are coming on this board and complaining that we are losing without actually seeing the game, and thus making comments about things that they maybe shouldn't (if they haven't been to the game). TonyTyke.
RE: I think his point was ..... I would say quite a few people slag off the clubs situation and don't even go to home games never mind away ones!!!
RE: I think his point was ..... that I commented on the fact that the strikers are not good enough 'cos they keep missing the chances.....OK as a team we played well but the strikers did not score...again...I did not have to be at one particular match home or away to know that. I have seen it most weeks this season and last...Home only ! The view was also echoed by Mr Ritchie in his comments on the official site...then again he has the right to make that comment having travelled to Derby.
Oakwell ... intimidating? ........ .... dunt mek me laugh, most folks sit on their arses with arms folded and never make a sound apart from mumbling under their breath about how **** we are etc etc. ... the atmosphere at (most) home games is shocking .... much better away from home
RE: Perhaps only the people that attend every match home and away should be allowed a say on here... Then, try, being, a, bit, constructive,.
Instead of, it's,,,****,,,,all,,,the,time,,,,lad.

RE: Perhaps only the people that attend every match home and away should be allowed a say on here... I'm enjoying the way we play....loads of chances created, some decent football for a change...something I have always said on here. I only stated the fact that we ship goals and need at least a new defender and a better striker !
