Due a rest? He hasn't played for two weeks, before today. I thought he played well.

Poor for me. But then, I'm a big fan of his so I know he is a lot better than that. Think I'd prefer him wide and Mellis central if we keep same team.

I'm not sure about left of midfield.. but he might make a better left-back than Kennedy. Then put Kelv back in

    Played OK

not brilliant, but when we were strong in the second half, him, COG and Pederson were really hassling and chasing down non-stop. Thats what he is best at ...... lost when sent out wide.

Yes, said the same to my brother, we've got plenty of options in that area, Mellis, Etuhu, Dawson, Digby. I think Fox and Perkins are too similar to play together, same as when we play Dawson and Perkins. Difference being, Fox seems to be able to pick a pass out, and can deliver a corner.

He stopped Butterfield playing in 1st half. Not his best day but he was ok.

Was awful again today as he has been most games lately.

If he put the same amount of effort into marking players as he does into telling everyone else on the planet to mark them then we might not be where we are in the league. I'm sick to death of seeing Mr Pointer sticking his arms out and shouting for everyone else in the squad to mark players up while he stands as far away from the opposition as possible and inevitably lets a player run passed him or pass a ball round him.

And don't get me started on him getting the ball facing forwards, spinning round about 10 times and finding the most backwards pass he can.

I don't think he did. I thought that their tactics in the first half were to exploit our weak full backs which meant they were deliberately not running through the midfield. I don't think it had anything to do with Perkins really, in fact Butterfield was playing deep and so was Perkins so i'm not sure how he could have been stopping him when there was around 30 yards between the two players.

Again I disagree. I don't think that he hassles or chases down. What he does is position himself awfully so that he HAS to run towards players to make up for his own mistakes. Better players in that position (of which we have many) position themselves much better so that they don't have to sprint towards players and dive in to make tackles.

His sloppy horrible clearance gave boro the second goal!! He needs a few games out of the team I think!! Where is the drive he showed last year? Personally I blame it on his new hair cut!

Both him and Steele look to have lost a lot of weight in recent months. I'm not suggesting they should be Mahoneyesque but maybe they're overdoing it in the gym / dieting and it's effecting their game?

I think he did. He was constantly around him, I commented at the game that you might think he had been asked to, especially for about 15 mins half way through the half. My only criticism of Perkins is that he dwells on the ball too much, take 1 too many touches which slows us down as a team going forward.
