Yeah

I think it's absolute quality. Much, MUCH better than the FIFA demo.

On the new PES it feels even more fluid, with some lovely moves being created, crisp passing etc. Plus the new feature being able to control certain players only (I think it's upto any 4 from one team with the computer controlling the rest) makes it even more interesting

The full game is going to be immense

Just hope the online play is better this time. They really failed on this key area last time.

They have bigged the online play up themselves and said it's amazing. Quite a bold statement if it goes tits up tho. Can't wait tho, just another week to wait. Hopefully mine will come thru a day or 2 before release :)

its rthe same as last year!!! i got fifa and it blows it into the water. I know a kid that works in konami in london and hes admitted to me they cant compete with the online play of fifa. He also admitted to buying fifa too!!!

imo based on the demo of pes and playing the full game fifa has the edge.

on pes just shoot on sight and knock in the rebounds...easy

Exactly, i have always been fan of pro evo to Fifa, but Fifa wins hands down now, pro evo is just deja 'vu, same attack everytime, its an arcade game.

    Ur right, Fifa blows!

What a pile of **** EA are. Radically change the game evey year cos they know they're ****. Fifa just doesn't feel like football to me, all it is is bells and whistles.

    Here we go again.....

Downloaded the demo of Pro Evo on the PS3 and on the 360. Flows slightly better on the 360, jerks on the PS3 when you do the knock the ball forward when your running.

After 2 mins on the PS3 that was enough to turn it off.

Pro Evo is just an aweful, aweful game.

I’ve bought every one since the old ISS days on the N64 (maybe SNES) and I won’t be buying this.

lol, its always a good debate tho mate eh, unfortunately it's always the same crap thats written.

I will back PES to the hilt - especially if it's a slight improvement on last time. There weren't much wrong with 08 IMO apart from slowdown and dodgy online play. Hopefully 09 will be a nice improvement. I've nowt against people who prefer Fifa - just IMO PES is the real deal lol.

Looks like i'm outvoted in favour of an uninspiring bells and whistles game of footy.

The youth of today shocks me, it really does ;-)

I haven't played FIFA since 2001 so I don't know what the new FIFAs are like...
I've played every PES since PES 2 though, but I don't think I'm going to bother buying the new one.
Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but as there have been no big changes for years (apart from graphics), I'm getting a bit bored of it now.

The control system is still stuck in the stone age, your player moves only in 8 directions in the age where all gamepads have analog sticks that support 360-degree movement. There are of course a million different tricks that your player can perform - to do those you just randomly hit the front buttons in your gamepad and see what happens! The truth is that you'll do just fine even without those tricks though...

The Master League used to be one of the best things about PES, but during the last 5 years they've hardly improved that either.
The sad truth is that even Sensible World of Soccer had a better career mode, and that was 13 years ago! The selection of teams in PES has always been really poor too.

The PES games were my favourite footie games for a couple of years, they were a breath of fresh air after too many years of FIFA games (to be honest, I liked to play SWOS or even Actua Soccer instead, but my friends only wanted to play FIFA), but since 2006 I've mostly been playing other football games.

Sorry for the long rant, I was only supposed to write a few lines but ended up writing an essay about computer football games in the 21st century... :D

    Downloaded both now!

Fifa - good graphics (close up) but far away is awful!! The stadium and crowd look totally fake the gameplay is questionable. Slow but the players have good movement.

PES - graphics (close up) not as good as FIFA. like a cartoon in fairness but far away, the crowd, the stadiums looks a lot better. Players are a little restricted in movement but overall the gameplay is better than FIFA. One more thing, the ball. very clever with the way it holds up in the air!

    I agree!

The Amiga version is probably better though, and easier to download and set up as well.

Getting everything to work properly through DosBox is a nightmare!
