    "I do not need to tell anyone that this play-off contest is far from over and we have another crucial ninety-minutes ahead. It was important to prepare right for this game. The players have been looking forward to it and it is important that they enjoy the occasion. We will be very positive and we know we will have to be strong and committed. With a 1-0 lead we cannot sit back and invite Barnsley on to us. We will have to get in behind them and create the chances we did last Thursday because everyone knows our strength is going forward.

    "Barnsley caused us real problems in the League game here and I expect them to do the same again this evening. They are coming here knowing that they need to score goals and, with the players they have, they are well capable of creating chances. I also know that we can be strong defensively, as we proved in the first leg, and we can also create chances.

    "Many of the players who are in the squad were young players and inexperienced when we were in the play-offs two seasons ago. They remember what a great occasion it is to progress through to Cardiff and there can be no greater incentive than that. We had a day we will never forget and once you have sampled that, you want more of it and it is no different this time round.

    "It is very important everyone gets behind me and the players. It is a wonderful occasion for everyone. Playing in the play-offs in front of packed house against your local rivals is what football is all about. The players rose to the occasion at Barnsley and I am sure they will do the same here."

    Good summary though.</p>

    What we need is Ritchie giving the players the pre battle spiel that Hannibal gave on telly last neet.</p>

    They went on to a massive victory, and they had elephants, and they'd been suppin'.</p>

    Sober and without elephants, our lot would clean up.</p>
