Cheers for that mate, much appreciated. Whenever I read or hear a Ramage interview, he always seems one of the nicest blokes we've ever had play for us. Interesting to read that Ramage believed Mr Cryne's speech, that he referred to during No 7 interview, struck a chord with the players and Ramage has the game as one of the most memorable during his stay, where as Mr Cryne only saw dead fish eyes.
I hope he's had a word with Patrick about Mason Holgate. If Ramage reckons he's a future international there should be no doubt about how good he is and how much we should be getting for him.
I wonder, could that be because as a company boss he has been so used to employees, and now fans, fawning over him and over selling their interest in every word he says that when hes spoke to footballers who themselves have big egos and aren't impressed by his standing in the world and they have given a normal response and not tried to kiss his arse while he's talking that he thinks this is an unusual response? I'm not saying that happened, I have no idea what relationship he had with his staff or with other people but in my experience of the way people play up to the big bosses at work I wouldn't be surprised.
Didn't he suggest that on entering the dressing room, he saw dead fish eyes? And that he then gave that speech about the miners strike, showed Bartrop's medal etc, and said that he couldn't be going in there every week to rouse the players as that was the managers job. Didn't he then infer that he saw dead fish eyes again, meaning he felt Danny had to go? I might have it completely wrong. But I took it that they had dead fish eyes 'before' his speech etc, not after hearing it. You were there though, I only heard the audio and can't remember all the detail.

Doubt it though, I fly off the handle too easily.
I thought I might have it wrong. To be fair, I remember that game. We weren't very good. That Abdoun fella for Forest ran our **** full backs ragged. It took a wonder goal from Jennings and some fortuitous defending to get that result. But I definitely agree with you now you've put me right. Few questions though.. Does Ramage come across as the sort to sit there with dead fish eyes, when hearing Cryne's stories of Bartrop and the miners strike? He doesn't me. Most of the others? Possibly. Luke Steele? No chance. Jim O'Brien, definitely not. In fact, even Stephen Dawson, twwat though he is, I reckon would have been inspired by that. I'm guessing Patrick is using creative license to suit his own ends to be honest.
No he doesn't No No Don't like him, but no. Neither does Chris O'Grady, or two of the subs that day: Lawrence and Nyatanga. And if I'd been in that dressing room, like one of those mentioned above, and heard that interview, I would've been mighty pissed off. I think Ramage has responded in the most dignified way possible.
I found the bit after that the most difficult to accept, where he suggested he didn't want to see a good man like Danny relegate us in two consecutive seasons. One, because Danny took over in that relegation season with a BFC side more on its arse than I've seen in years after they backed Flicker to the hilt then sacked him. And two, because not once did I think we looked like going down under Danny, in fact I expected us to come good once we signed a winger or two and got Winnall back. Which happened, when JOS arrived (Danny's boy) and Winnall returned. Ont ******* wing.
