<span class="head1">Anybody know owt about him? ------------------------------------------- Pistol Pete in QPR sights</span> 24 January 2006 Linfield striker Peter Thompson could be a Queens Park Rangers player before the transfer window slams shut.</p> The Coca-Cola Championship side will step up their interest in theNorthern Ireland international this week and are considering offeringhim a trial.</p> Rangers boss Ian Holloway will watch Thompson tackle Glentoran intonight's Co Antrim Shield semi-final against Glentoran at Windsor Park(7.30).</p> And he will be joined by Barnsley chief Andy Ritchie who is also searching for a frontman.</p> Thompson impressed a QPR scout when he smashed in a hat-trick in the5-0 demolition of Armagh City in the fifth round of the NationwideIrish Cup.</p> And Holloway, who recently revealed he was offered illegal 'bungs'as an inducement to sign players, wants another look at the player.</p> Barnsley are keen on Thompson but Ritchie is also targeting Bradford City striker Dean Windass.</p> Linfield chairman David Crawford said yesterday the club had not received any bids for the striker.</p> "All I know about Queens Park Rangers is what I read in the pressthat a scout was at the Irish Cup game," he said.
