Booked travelodge for the away day in Peterboro next month.... Does anyone know if the away end is still standing down at London Road? Never been before!
No, it's not standing and seated .... standing only behind nets ... .... away seats in the stand to the right of the away end
Just as long as there is standing and plenty of tickets available it's all I'm bothered about as there will be a dozen of us going and all getting tickets seperately and it makes it easier if it's standing! Happy Days!
Guys, I live in Peterborough so here are a few tips for the day. PM me or post if you have any other questions and I'll do my best to answer for you. Yes the Moyes end behind the goal is all standing and away seating is in the corner of the main stand nearest the away end. If you usually take a leak and buy a pie at half time, bring a pack up and an empty bottle cos the away supporters facilities can only be described as the worst in the champ. The ground is well signposted and 10 mins walk from city centre and 15 mins walk from the train station. The main away pub is The Cherry tree on Oundle Road 2 mins from ground but The Peacock accross the road is also popular as is Charters. Personally I'd recomend Charters. It's a converted Dutch river barge and well worth a visit especially if you like your Ale instead of Larger and the Thia restraunt upstairs is good and affordable(ish). The only pubs I'd possibly avoid would be The Boys Head and The Office also on Oundle Road and a short walk to the ground.
Re: Peterboro - Away Supporters FAO FENTYKE We're all staying over for a booze up round Peterborough after the game on the Saturday night. Any places you could recommend we go and or avoid and places where they would turn away a group of lads on a birthday do? Also how strict is the trainers/shoes rule down there? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, is the Central Travelodge within walking distance of the ground? Cheers mate! PS) What are the Peterborough women like? Is it apt that is hallowe'en or not
Mate, There's nowhere with a reputation for trouble anymore but Peterborough bouncers seem to be stuck circa 1987 on the trainers front. What sort of music do you like? The Met Lounge near the town hall is the Indie spit and sawdus type offering, Bogarts off westage is a good city centre real ale place as is The Brewery tap (good Thia food too) both with a good mix of people and there's usually a good dance/club night at the City & County club behind barclays. Other than that Peterborough is fairly standard for a provincial town. The women should be out because it's halloween but don't expect too much. Pboro lasses (if you can find one between the carp eaters and the pikeys) are not exactly known for their beauty but there's just as many fair bits as there are in any other town. Central travelodge is on a 10 min walk from town and ground. Good choice
Doubt it we'll be sold out weeks and weeks before, once Robins has us top of the league and pissing all over everyone.
Hoping to go There's a beer festival in Lincoln that weekend so planning to stay in Lincoln, leave the women shopping whilst me and my mate go to the game and then back for a night out. Dependent on the missus swapping her Saturday shift though.
