A big thank you to Keith Hill and his team for a fantastic day out yesterday. I don't do many away games these days due to the sheer cost but I had this one picked out well in advance because of the standing opportunity. My lad is 12 and has never experienced standing at football. He now wants to know why they won't bring it back?!
What a game. End to end football, some breathtaking goals, a roller coaster of a match and a fantastic atmosphere in the away end with non stop singing from 1st to 95th minute. What more could you ask for? I've watched the Reds for 38 years and seen some fantastic away games but yesterday would defo be up there in the top half dozen or so, it was that good. My mates would tell you that I am more a glass half empty man, but even I am struggling to adampen down the enthusiasm I feel for the rest of the season. I really think we are onto something good with Hillcroft.
To the public of Barnsley I say get behind this management team because these guys are top drawer.
    Up the Reds!!!

    Agreed

I'm not quite up with your 38 years mate - only 33 - but I agree, there aren't many away days up there with saturday, but these come close.

    Rotherham 81/82 (4-2)
Enfield (FA Cup at White Hart Lane) 80/81 (3-0)
    Stoke (FA Cup) (88/89) (3-3)
    Birmingham City (Play-off semi) 99/00 (4-0)

I'm sure there are some more good uns.

I took my 2 lads to Peterborough 2 years ago, they'd never stood before and thought it was great. Takes me back to standing on the Ponty down near the corner flag. You used to be able to stand in the same place for every game and got to know some of the people who stood round you. Now (unless you're a season ticket holder) you never see the same faces again which is a great pity. Also you could easily get away from somebody you'd rather not be near.

Completely agree. Peterborough has to be in my top four or five away games too.

To the fans who have got out of the habit of coming you are missing some cracking football and the beginning of something that could be a special time in our history. Get back to Oakwell, you won't regret it.
