    Having read @JamDrop's post about her goldfish Bruce, named after Bruce Dyer, it set me thinking. I've had 2 pets named after Reds players - Pipi the hamster, named after Peter Price, and Archie the dog, named after Owen Archdeacon.

    Before jaunting off for a life in the bright lights of London I called my Mum's Westies 'Barnsley' and 'Scarlett' (toyed with 'Ashley' and 'Ronnie' but picking a shade of red worked best). This involved every dog related item being red i.e. bowls, collars, leads, etc.

    Brother and sister but sadly had to say goodbye to Barnsley two weeks ago after 14 and a half years.

    Proudest moment was Barnsley growling at then Leeds player Paul Green who lived in the next village along.

    Peter Price. My ex striking partner. I called him baldy, but I was the Prince. Loads of dogs were named after me in the late seventies...
