Not really sunk in yet, but just watched the match again and we played much better than it felt on the day!! Even though I felt it was pretty even over the match anyway. When that penalty was saved by Colgan, me, my dad and one of the mates were emotional, with tears in our eyes. All the frustration, anger and pain since we missed out at Wembley, got relegated and slipped into administration were washed away. As were thoughts of gutless tossers of the recent past. And how the players, manager and fans deserve it. We're been through some dark times over the last six years. We've come out of the other side hopefully stronger and leaner than ever before. I must take my hat off to Andy Rithcie. At times I have criticised him and have been frustrated by things he has said and done. However, Mr Ritchie, it was evident yesterday that the players respect you and looking back at the faces of the players as they waited for the penalties, you could see the confidence in their faces. Thank you for a special day. It's hard to explain how much this means to me and thousands of other Barnsley supporters. At times, it's been hard for me to be posiive. These times have been the worst I have experienced as a Barnsley supporter [since the mid 80's], and whilst others will have seen similar before, each person's experiences are individual and unique. It's probaly become easier to expect the worse. All the players that were involved, throughout the match yesterday and indeed throughout the season have given their all, I sure and they deserve the thanks and appreciation. Ricthie has some tough decisions to make over the coming weeks, but I'm positive that he'll get most of them right. I/we might not always agree with them and sometimes criticise but our support is really always there. Let's be under no illusions, it'll be tough next season, but I think that we are back where we belong. That's not arrogance or unrealistic expectation, it's where I think our natural position is. Let's hope that we can afford to back AR as much as possible and enable him to build. I for one, will be there for the ride. Thanks once again.
