the hilarious thing is the lad has scored a ton of golas and we should be getting a decent wedge for him, instead we've self engineered a situation where we wait till his shittest form and ostracise him out of the squad for the lowest possible return, I honestly don't think there is a club in the FL worse than us at selling players
That’s been the case for several years though so no change. Although, in the past, we’ve tended to sell players for peanuts just when we were on the verge of building something special, and really engaged the supporters. I don’t think that’s the case this time.
We have absolutely no idea why he isn't playing. Just making stuff up again. We also got a tonne of money for Kitching. That was pretty good...
Well we do know he turned up late, we also know the head coach said in a pre match press conference other reasons were stated, so what's your take then because he isn't injured.
It is very frustrating if he’s again been left out for disciplinary reasons essentially. Costing us money in the fact he’s not going to get any more goals and/or assists and also costing us money because he will be on a good wage and isn’t contributing anything. Let’s hope he had a slightly injury tonight or something.
Christ! Philips is not the saviour of this Club. He’s little better than the rest. He and Connell have had poor seasons. The difference? When Connell is playing badly, he still shows for the ball, tries to get into the game. When Phillips is off the boil, he goes and hides in the corner. Another one in the camp of ‘talented but heart of a pea’. And now we can add - undisciplined and doesn’t give two shits.
You can’t add that at all. None of us know why he was late. We also don’t know whether he cares or not.
And the player - unlike the coach - has no right of reply. As I said on Saturday, it's something new to me. A coach publicly shaming a player for missing a team meeting. Behind closed doors, happens a lot. But yeah. Very weird.
I agree but it's probably not Conors best achievement to let future suitors know all this, I've got no problem with dropping him but we've gained nothing from highlighting all his failures. Another gamble that seems to have back fired.
It doesn’t matter why he was late. This is a football club not Class 3b. Do you think if he had a valid reason the Coach would have disciplined him! We know he doesn’t give a toss because he was told that if he sorted himself out, he’d be back in the team. In the event, he’s not even in the squad. That rather suggests he cares little for the Club, his team mates or the support. And that is bang in line with his frequent disappearances on the field.
Connell was the main reason for the massive improvement in our play tonight before the De Gevigney ****-up wrecked everything.
Imho...A very good technical player. No one at the club has his ability to shoot (long range) and decent passer too....he a scorer of goals. Unfortunately he's lazy, he will go missing for long periods and will not move half a yard for any pass, so it better be inch perfect. The latest news on being dropped, I fully support. We simply can't afford bad attitudes on that pitch (as good as he is). Will we miss him when he leaves? Yea of course but I shudder to think who will replace him...no doubt some part time, under 18 French lad from the French 90th tier.
This is my issue here - We dont really know whats gone off but Im not sure Hourihane has handled this well, I dont think Phillips has either but airing this in public benefits no one. Its quite possible Phillips has played his last game for us and we will be in a weaker negotiating position in the summer than we were and so will he so everyone loses
