When you have a phone on contract, when the contract runs out would I be able to keep the phone, get it unlocked and put a new sim card in? Thanks In Advance
Thanks a lot for quick reply. I might do that then, if it works out cheaper than buying one on pay-as-you-go.
RE: Of course its cheaper, you only need a sim card I've got a sim card anyway, I jumped in pool with my phone on holiday last week though so I need a new one but sim card still works.
This is a silly question and I am going to regret asking this, but if its your phone thats knackered, why did you ask if you could have it unlocked and use a PAYG sim card?
RE: This is a silly question and I am going to regret asking this, but No, I'm thinking of getting a new one on contract then unlocking it when that contract runs out, if it works out cheaper to pay the contract for 6/12month rather than buy a new one straight on PAYG.
He didn't I think he meant that he want's to replace is broken phone so was asking if he can get one on contract and then just use it as a pay as you go phone. Not sure if he means to keep using it on contract until it expires and then use it pay as you go or if he means to just stop using the contract straight away and unlock the phone on the first day. Which phone is it that you're interested in Wellsie? And do you use it more for texts or calls? (roughly how many?)
RE: He didn't I haven't really looked at any phones in particular but I just want a good one lol, with good memory. Preferrably not a nokia as they all seem to break, the one I had was a nokia and charger broke and bluetooth broke and my brothers had a couple and they also seem to break quite frequently. I'd rather have one with more texts but I don't use that many TBH, i would want more than 200 per month.
If you're only talking 200 to say 400 a month then you can get a pretty cheap contract Orange have a contract with 100 minutes a month and unlimited texts one free 'magic number' (unlimited free calls to one other orange mobile) plus their orange wednesday cinema tickets for £15 a month with a free phone. The choice of phone's is limited but it's still a cheap contract. Or if you want more choice of phones there is their 20 pound contract (should be £25 but has £5 a month off when bought online) which comes with 200 minutes instead of 100. The choice of phone's is a bit better and includes the Motorola ROKR E8 (the one advertised on TV at the moment) which is great for music, the buttons change when you're in music mode. The contract comes with free speakers for the phone as well to use it more like an ipod with a dock. Go through quidco (a cashback service on the net which EVERYONE should be signed upto anyway) for an extra £60 back in your pocked.
RE: If you're only talking 200 to say 400 a month then you can get a pretty cheap contract Thanks for that I will have a look at those What's this quidco thing? Tar
quidco.com is a site that gives you cashback when you buy things online. It has a lot of companies included and if you shop online a lot you can really make/save a lot of money. A lot of companies on quidco pay you for taking free trials or for signing up to something that is free. A few examples, betfair, paddypower, coral etc will all give you anywhere between 10 and 50 quid when you sign up through quidco, this is generally on top of any other joining offer they have. Moneysupermarket, kelkoo and other comparison sites pay you a few pence whenever you search on the net with them, it isnt a lot but its free. Take a free trial on the DVD rental sites and you can get anywhere between 5 and 20 quid paid through quidco (as well as getting some free DVD's to rent as well). Buy one national lottery ticket online and get 4 or 5 pound back. Like I said, if you use it you can make quite a bit. I have made around £500 from having an account and I haven't spent a penny more than I was going to anyway.
