Got sent a Samsung D600 by a certain phone company earlier this June with promise of new contract. Was still with O2, so put my SIM in and worked fine. When my T-Mobile contract started and O2 finished i put the T-Mobile SIM in but didnt work, had a network lock. Complained to said company, got sent a new Samsung D800 and 85 pound inconvenience cheque to cover line rental paid without a phone that worked. Questions are: 1) I preferred the old D600 to the D800 i received. Can i somehow get this phone to work with my T-Mobile SIM and sell the new one or is it an O2 only phone? 2) If i have to stick with the new D800 can i sell the old one, and if so will it only work with O2 SIM cards. Both phones are in immaculate condition. By the way they never asked for the old phone back.
Cheers for the......... Prompt reply John, but i'm unsure of what you mean. Do they make the phone available for any SIM?? Is that what SIM free phones mean on ebay? Does it cost much? Sorry for all the questions.
RE: Cheers for the......... I think you take the old one(that you still want to use) and ask them to unlock it for any network. You should then be able to put your new sim in. No idea how much it costs. I'm in same boat. contract on a k750i is up, new contract is likely to be with a k608i but i want to use new contract with old phone.
RE: Cheers for the......... Thanks a lot mate, im off into Notts to find the dodgiest looking market stall then. I knew i'd get my answer on here, should have tried weeks ago (Y)
Thing is..... The one i want to keep is currently getting bids on ebay of £170 plus, and that's for used ones that are about a year old. Mines only 3 months used. The newer model is going for about £90 though in comparison, mainly cos it's not as good, poorer camera etc. Not sure what to do, stick with a worse phone and make £180 or sell the new one for a lot less. Decisions, decisions
RE: Thing is..... There is a place in the Viccy Centre market in Notts that unlocks, or alternatively at the bottom of Hockley. I got mine done a few years back in a place on Alfreton Road, at the top of Peverill Street if thats easier for you....
