Does anyone else like semi skimmed milk on fruit pie? I've got **** my whole life for this but me, me dad and me sister have always had it.
My wide does and her mother brought that idea down from Scotland. Cream is obviously too indulgent for Scots folk.
No not semi skimmed, Needs to be either cream Ice cream or custard - or any combination of the 3 of them and not that sqirty UHT "cream" out of a can either Carnation if all else fails
You have to get the Carnation at the right temperature ... I'd suggest around +3-4% C & the pie around 80% C A nice cup of tea & a litre of vodka to wash it down
I've gobed it Ark in the past( Home made pie though) as a sweet after a good dinner of stew meat, kidney, carrots, onions, and pig feet done in a good gravy in't stew pot, with mash potato's and cabbage, most of that lot I grow mi sen.
Pie and Milk Just tried it with a cranberry topped pork pie and it sort of curdles the milk. Not very nice, it has a strange texture. I should pass on that one
I like milk with most things and often carry a bottle to the car wash for instance or maybe to the local beetle drive
