I love pie and peas. You can't beat a good pork pie and some proper mushy peas on bonfire night.

I went to Wentworth Castle bonny last night. Appalled they didn't have pies & pies. Veggie pie and gravy only. No peas. Outraged.

It was. As you will have observed, they didn't have a fcukin clue what they were doing, queues were mental and they ran out of stuff after 10 minutes. They should have drafted Lindley's in, for a Grade A service.

Yes, I was in the queue outside for a can of pop for ages, but ended up giving up in the end.

It's just not a bonfire night party without pie and peas!
We have friends that are originally from Norfolk, they mentioned that most events they went to when they first moved to Yorkshire (they live in Halifax) always had pie and peas on, such that its an in joke with them and her parents when they visit. Now they've invited us to a charity event they are running and it includes a pie and pea supper!
When the missus first moved over from the States, she wasn't too keen on pork pies, now she loves them, and she liked mushy peas first time she tried them when we went to Whitby when she first visited.
That's me sorted for lunch - pork pie and peas in Chennels!

I know what you're saying. Whenever we have some sort of evening it's always the same meal, never any variety. Could have sausage and mash, fish and chips, curry, burger, gammon, fry up and many more besides.

That's quite funny, I went to a bonfire/fireworks display yesterday and I was extremely disappointed that not one place was selling pie n peas. I'd gotten myself all worked up for it and then there wasn't any :(
