No, not a new thrash metal band but delicacy in Barnsley pubs. A real pig's ****. On the bar, as a bar snack.

Well according to a mate from Rotherham, it was.

Served up sliced (a bit like a savoury swiss roll he claims) with a bit of vinegar.

I've been in the pub industry most of my life and never heard of this.

Could it have any truth whatsoever or is someone pulling his plonker?

My mother loves tripe. It looks disgusting. How the hell anyone can eat that is beyond me. Hope that there won't be any an show at the Anglers Rest next saturday or you will end up seeing my dinner!!

French peppered pork tripe sausage. Lovely with a mustard sauce and chips (or à la sauce moutarde accompagné de pommes-frites, if you prefer).

Mrs Burgundy Red can't even bear to be in the house when I'm cooking them.

When I were a young un, people used to eat bulls pezzle (bulls ****) in a similar fashion. Never knew there was a pig equivalent savoury.

Tripe is not from a pig.

It's cow's stomach, from it's first three chambers.
