I dont think he does hes done alright this season so far. I do think it was correct change though because he was really lackadaisical and clumsy at times, but hopefully it was an off game for him. Hes such a threat from dead balls too.
He was really poor, kept getting wrong side of his man. There’s a lot of potential there but also a lot to work on imho.
Poor today and kept getting caught out with their striker getting in behind. But he’s been very good in previous matches. Wins a lot in the air and is a massive thread for our set pieces. Don’t agree about pushing him out to the under 21s. Also, seeing their goal on highlights after getting in from the game where I wasn’t sure, it’s fully Slonina’s fault.
I’ve not seen it back but definitely thought keepers fault at time …but could see a goal coming from Pines involvement as he just kept getting caught
He had a poor game today but he's got enough credit in the bank to allow him a bad one, I just think he needs to concentrate on doing the basics right and don't be afraid to launch a few into row z.
Unless Slonina gave him a shout, Pines should have dealt with with. I disagree with the OP though. He was poor today, but dropping him from the side completely is madness.
I think at the game I took my eye off it for a split second because I assumed the keeper would come out and collect then suddenly the ball is through them both. Agree about Pines. For some reason today he struggled to get goal side.
I did like the look of the guy who he was marking - it was a bit down to this - he is a handful. I think he’s the lad we had a bid turned down for
Yep, we have to remember what level we’re playing at. If our players put in faultless displays week in and out they wouldn’t be with us.
Imho an important player for this team. Not fully fit yet but I have already seen that his physicality is something we have been crying out for. Gives us a proper Ariel threat going forward....no coincidence we have yet to lose with him in the team.
You could hear Slonina shout from it in east stand. It’s all the keepers fault. Not only did he shout for the ball but when you’re that far out of your goal then you HAVE to make that ball yours. Slonina seems to be a good shot stopper but has a mistake, as expected as a youngster, and could improve on his kicking but he’ll have more good games than bad ones this season. Pines is great for us, today you summed it up exactly. He’s will be a great player for us, and one who most definitely doesn’t belong in the u21s as point 1, he’s completely too good for that level and point 2, that playing alongside Roberts and studying his game will be much more beneficial for him.
Aerially he was great as usual. I do worry when he has the ball at his feet but as long as he keeps his passes simple that'll do me! Positionally, I'm sure that will come when he gets more used to his team mates, Roberts will be helping him there I'm sure!
I think it's a defence thing rather than Pines. It's the most experienced part of the team, but the part that needs the most work. A few times they looked like they had never met one another even before Bristol finally took advantage.
You have to allow him some off-games at times. If he was any better than what he was, he wouldn’t have signed for us - simple. He’s still developing. Good in the air and a big threat from set pieces.
