Most of us were gutted when we sold Pinnock and Lindsay in the same transfer window a couple of years ago, but given the improvement in Andersen and the quality of proven international Helik, we might well see offers too good to turn down come in for them this summer. So, simple question: who is the better CB pairing? Pinnock/Lindsay or Helik/Andersen.
I think Pinnock is the best out of the 4. Liam Lyndsay was nowt special. So I'll go for our current pairing. Mawson/ Roberts wasn't bad either. We do alright for centre backs.
I really rate our current defence. I think any weakness we’ve had recently has been cutting edge in the final third - hopefully the new lads will put that to bed
Would be interesting to see how Helik and Andersen play as a pair. So far they've always had either the experience of Solbauer, or the pace of Sibbick alongside them.
Pinnock was one of the best center halfs id seen at oakwell for a long time when he was here and no suprise he was ever present in a brentford side that had the best defence in the league and reached the play offs and the season after won the play offs. I never really got the hype with lindsay he was okay but some on here really got abit carried away. Helik is another class center half and should go for big money when he does leave. Like said we always do well with center backs shame we never saw lindsay and pinnock in the championship and hardly saw mawson and Roberts.
Helik and Andersen. It's better this time round because Sibbick, Kitching and Halme are top drawer in reserve.
Helik and Pinnock would be a decent enough pairing for many Premier League sides outside the top six.
Unsure. The current defenders have seemingly excelled in a back three - whereas the previous pairings only played as a two. I voted Mawson and Roberts.
Since we didn't have chance to see Pinnock lindsay in the championship its a bit hard to say. Pinnock is now showing he can cope at Prem level, I was gutted he didn't stay.
What about McCarthy & Evans? Or Futcher & Shotton (well Futcher and anyone). Edit Futcher & Stuart Gray.
