http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1547397,00.html I guess that picture will have been from a few days ago. It makes sense to have the inspection early, as Palace will be travelling up around 1-2 this afternoon. There's been little snow the past few days and most roads have been gritted. It should be fine.
Reading official site saying pitch not a worry but paths leading to ground snow and ice covering a concern. Where british we made of sterner stuff, does that meaning shopping might be cancelled for saturday because of snow covered paths and precints.
Bit of snow & country grinds to a halt!! It was sensible calling off Sheff Wed as night games are hard to make as it is, but Saturdays are a lot easier with most people being able to set off a lot earlier than needs be! Hope it goes ahead, will be bored all weekend if not!
If it's off 28 hours in advance .............. ........ with no more snow due, it's pathetic and they don't want to play ............ how hard is it to grit the surrounding areas with a full day and a bit to do it in?
I Agree Albatross whole heartedly. Just salt paths around ground and car park. If they call it off what they saying we dont go out the house because its too dangerous, load of B*ll*cks if people feel in threat dont come but let those who want a game on, on a saturday afternoon should be given the chance to watch there team.
when we find out if on or off sheff wed did a inspection found out within 1mins we been waitin 25mins and still dont know
I suspect it's just a precaution before the Palace team ... ....... set off, but then again, I thought that the Pigs match would definitely be on after hearing from a few deedahs that the pitch and surrounding areas were fine, so I'm expecting the barstewards to ruin my weekend by calling it off, then owt other than that will be a bonus!!
