Who would've thought it. And the Sky studio guys thought it was good, with a bit of crowd surfing by Robinson thrown in. Shame on em, I hope they use the sky footage to bring banning orders to the 5000 or so on the pitch. Terrible, especially with it being so illegal en all.

haha its a disgrace that is just so wrong. I hope they are not promoted because of it. They should be ashamed.

i dunno which club would allow their fans to do that, bypassing all 5 stewards in their way

Might be a laugh but if some idiot twatted a Southampton player leaving him unable to play Saunday - just think what FA could do

IF YOU GO ON PITCH YOU'RE A LOSER, IF YOU LET YOUR KID GO ON - GROW UP

Yes funny innit - NO. Laugh now but if a Kendray scally hit Weaver on Saturday for example, possible point loss AND RIGHTLY SO

that is a totally different issue and you know it!!! Assaulting players does not come hand in hand with an end of season pitch invasion. It is a traditianal bit of fun and should be taken in contxt. People get so uptight.

I (personally) wouldn't go on pitch to hurt a player, but while a drunken yob was - he might ask himself WHY NOT take a swing? Deny he opportunity at start and it won't happen.

Do yuo honestly think players don't have some doubt in their mind when 100 fans run at them?

But he didn't did he. We didn't get searched going into ground and if 'a kendray scally' as you put it, had throwd abottle on the pitch then possible points would've been deducted also. It was end of season high spirits nothing more nothing less.

sadly this is the kind of society we live in now. We have been bread ininto the attitude that you have, where everything is a potential risk, risk assessments and legal claims.

Very sad but most people would agree with you. It has been 1984 for some time. I expect my pickaxe anytime. /poo

WBA had genuine reasons to celebrate...

...as did Barnsley THIS year, but it happens EVERY year at Oakwell, regardless of the result and its context.

Clearly people who run onto the pitch do it because it's fun for them, but what about those who want to see the players come back onto the pitch for a lap of honour, so we can show our appreciation? The pitch invasion, which is not allowed, prevents that from happening and so ruins it for other fans.

How would you like it if some lads - having a bit of fun - phoned in hoax bomb threats on a Satdi night that shut half the pubs so you couldn't go in?

Or if some kids - having a bit of a laugh as far as they were concerned - let off stink bombs in the cinema so you couldn't watch the film?

I'm all for people enjoying themselves - especially kids - but not when beaking rules to do so spoils it for others.

Didn't go on the pitch myself, and still applauded the players at the end. What's all this about a lap of honour, never happened before and it aint been a problem, bring back spontaneous reaction not stage managed crap, else the game will be watching american football.

I guess you'd like to be able to jog across the pitch each game to see yer mates in another stand?

So i guess you'd like a few streakers each game? Actually that one wouldn't be so bad depending on who it is :pff

Anyway, what's so spontaneous about a pitch invasion that happens on the last home match of every season? Wouldn't "spontaneous" be at random matches throughout the season? I can see that working out just fine.
