I think when they showed smaller and seemingly random place names there used to be a link between them all. Bit of a puzzle to work it out. Not sure if thats still the case.
You do realise I'm going to spend the next six months trying to find the pattern every day when there isn't one now dont you
Don't do that, I could be completely wrong! I was told by a teacher years ago. Homework was to watch look north weather and guess the link.
There used to be one. Where you could take parts of each place and come up with another word or saying. Look north (or one after local news) used to do it. But no longer do
My daughter lives in Shetland and there is a place called T W A T there. Here is a picture of myself standing by it.
I always moan about the "pointless graphic" on the main weather when they put up London. Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast because none are of any use to us. Then last year we were going to London for a few days....they changed it to regional places and it was showing Leeds!
Here in Aberystwyth we appear on the weather map almost every night. There is nowt here. But then even less for miles around. So its just a gap in the map that needs filling
It's quite simple really, there's a gauge which monitors the electrical output of every town in the region shown on screen. The 10 places with the highest electrical output at that given time are seen as the most likely places that people are watching the weather forecast. Because of this, those place names are displayed on screen, as this is seen as the most helpful way of highlighting where places are. Hope this helps.
