Agree about Mex We went for my birthday a couple of month back, hadn't been for a while - really gone down hill and the menu isn't anywhere near as extensive as it was. Won't be going back.
Sloanes is very nice. A little overpriced for what they offer in my opinion though. For a far better dining experience, I'd travel to Leeds and eat at Sous Le Nez. The food there is quite frankly, amazing. It's reasonably priced too.
Re: MEX Apparently they have had a change of ownership. This used to be my fave restaurant but after visiting last month they have slashed the menu and got rid of loads of the 'favourites'. PAOLO
Prago's - good Italian near Harrys Bar, Best Curry is Bollywoods both just off Westgate between the Station and all the main ming mong bars. Or, Mex down the little side street on Westgate is good.
They tell me the food in westgate prison is much better now a days <a href="http://www.vidiLife.com/?tc=1098080">
All too poncy. For good basic Indian snap go to Amani's Asian Cuisine - just down from Bollywood. Much better value. Three courses for £7.99. And there's plenty of room these days (since the murder).
