Couldn’t get down today - family commitments. Just wondered what happened re Plan A - playing it out from the back at all times. Did Charlton let us do that or did they press and we’ve come up with a Plan B. Or neither of these. Cheers.
One thing i did notice was from goalkicks Radlinger booted it long to either Woodrow or Wilks a lot more then what he did against Fulham or Weds, whereas before more often then not he would play it short down the middle to Mcgeehan or to one of the centre backs. Just a little change but i believe it was better tactically for us as it wasn't inviting pressure just outside the area straight away from a goalkick.
Yeah, noticed a few times today we knocked it long a few times instead of playing under too much pressure.. nice tactical adjustment maybe
Decent game to be fair. Gutted they got an equaliser. Couldn't say the plan was to play it out from the back. Charlton saw to that. But still got plenty of the ball into their area with a neat passing game starting from midfield and good interlinking by the forwards. Also one or two long passes came off.
Good to vary the play at times and not be too predictable. If they are pressing high we should try to get it out a try and catch them out.
Looked a mix from what I saw online. Definitely worked. Probably base strategy on opponents and their own styles and maybe size of defenders.
Just before he took his goalkicks he also gestured to Anderson and Diaby to get them to move forward.
