Players will be booked if they walk off the pitch if they have been racially abused. I know they have said that the referee has the power to suspend or abandon the match if abuse is taking place. But firstly a message is going to be put over the stadium speakers to tell people to stop but if it persists the referee can stop play. Let's see what is going to happen if the match is abandoned are they going to let the score stand as a result or will they reschedule it in a tight timeframe? methinks it will never happen!

We are allowing this fear of racism to overshadow the entire tournament. Although it's a disgrace that these two countries are hosting it in the first place, the players can't take things into their own hands. The referee has to decide if the game should be abandoned. Not the players.

The reason Platini is doing that is to cover the fact they have made an huge error in allowing countries with racist and violence records as bad as these to even host a tournement!

This business about the ref possibly abandoning a game if there's racial abuse - how's that going to work then? How do they then determine the outcome of the game?
England play Ukraine in the final group game so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that both teams could be going into that game needing a result to take them through.....what's to prevent the Ukrainian fans starting some abuse at one of our players to try to get the game called off and enable them to qualify?
