not over until the fat lady sings…I know she’s warming her vocal chords but fighting spirit is a thing and we’ve already witnessed it many times this season. https://www.90min.com/posts/the-biggest-comebacks-efl-play-off-history
Yep hopefully although it does feel like that could have been our moment keeper made some outstanding saves, santos made an outstanding block or two and it just wouldn’t go in. The ref has then hugely let us down for the third which feels like it may be a killer goal. Let’s hope not - like you say, another goal from us and it’s game on!
I’m expecting Bolton to play much better on Tuesday and we always give teams a couple of goals so in reality we are going to need 4 goals at least so it’s all over people.
Take the wife to Meds, have an Arnold Shank. Go to Donny watching trains. Take up knitting. None of it will stop you looking at the score or taking away the pain.
We always concede. Soft goals too. So we will need 4 or 5 goals to get through. Hmm. Come out of the traps quickly and get an early goal, you never know I guess.
We might have a chance if we replace our goalkeeper with an 8ft tall and 24ft wide block of concrete. At least we’d manage a clean sheet for once!
Just got in after a very long day. Far be it for me to be enthusiastic about the 2nd leg but…… I know some don’t agree but I’ve said this season this Division has been absolute gash. For evidence I’d suggest that BFC being so comfortably in the Play offs for so long and…. Derby County’s promotion. Derby!! Just let that sink in for a moment. A truly dreadful team. And now we have Bolton Wanderers. Good grief. Poor. Could only be described as functional at best. We only actually played against them tonight for 15 minutes, at which point, they fell apart. If it wasn’t for the fact that we can’t defend for toffee (another masterclass this evening) I’d still have some confidence that we could go there and do them serious damage. However, that would mean 95 minutes of intensity, getting right in their faces, and giving it a real go. I shall travel more in hope than expectation.
The frustration is Bolton were garbage and absolutely there for the taking. But we gifted them some weak goals where every shot on target pretty much went in.
Who would have thought it? Us, alone here in a football stadium, scoring at least two goals and keeping a clean sheet….,
Unfortunately this group has lost all confidence and mental strength not helped with poor coaching and game plan, sure we can score two in Bolton but there’s absolutely no way on this planet this team can keep a clean sheet
The ref didn't let us down for the third goal at all. Yet again a complete loss of concentration and some naive defending.
Poor defending and many of our woes last night were self-inflicted. But 9 times out of 10 that gets disallowed. Anyone arguing otherwise is just being disingenuous.
Rubbish defending, rubbish refereeing imho. It was a foul. Not sure how it can be argued any other way personally as their player makes no attempt to get the ball and obstructs keeper?
