Given the events of this week have confused many long term fans who have seen it all before maybe players recruited on the basis of building for the future with a set plan of developing themselves and improving the club as a result have become as confused and disillusioned as the rest of us.
Yep. This is how I see it. We've had poor performances this season but we've never thrown in the towel like today
They get paid for their performance, we pay to watch it. What right do they have to be confused/upset. They should do their job.
They play football. One would imagine that they might have become confused by virtue of their recent experiences - being played out of position, or not at all, or jocked off when playing ok, or wondering why they weren't in the squad due to player imports. Thus they may have become disillusioned. And who might they hold responsible for that?
I work for people who don't know what the plan is. Fairly regularly me and my colleagues can't be arsed either. It's not solely a football thing.
Well they haven't capitulated in that manner before. Players are human like the rest of us and it's daft to say they don't get affected by outside events.
If my manager at work were to get the sack then I would presume that myself and the rest of the lads had not been performing enough for him. I would also be fearing for my job and would be trying to make improvements as that's what I'm paid to do by my employer.
Players who on the whole aren't good enough only have to drop their effort level very slightly to be on the end of a stuffing...
Football's a different game though. Lads are under contract & guaranteed a weekly wage or a substantial pay off. On top of that most of them have friends or agents that they know can get them another job, see Hill & Flitcroft taking the ex reds with them
Get what you're saying but they're not guaranteed another job and not on the same salary either. Surely as a footballer you want to play at the highest level possible ? Many players have left BFC and struggled to play at the same level they were once at.
Thats not quite how it works. When my senior managers have had the sack in the past, I've been busy preparing my exit plan in case I'm next...
I think most do but you get some lads like Mellis & McCourt & you wonder what they could do if there application matched the talent they've got
