Hopefully the new boss will be given time and a bit of money to dabble in the transfer window. With Davies looking likely to go who would you like as a replacement? I wouldn't mind taking a punt on Tom Pope at Port Vale scoring a bag full. Maybe Rob Jones for CB? What realistic players would you like to see?
Rumoured to be getting around £400,000 for Davies sure we could get Pope for that. Wonder if Stonesy will go to Wigan £3m lol
Barnes-Homer at Macc? Knows where the back of the net is. The biggest brute of a centre back in League One who loves getting his head in and shouting at people. Whoever that may be. A promising young winger from a Premieship club on loan.
Talking to a vale fan about Pope on Saturday funnily enough - they said he was awful when he first joined but they have changed their style of play with two wingers and it's really worked for him. Putting the ball in the box for a strike? Sounds unbelievable .....
The new boss is going to need to quickly realise that we are bobbins at the back. The likes of Foster and Hassell are going to have to feature more prominently, and we are also going to have to bring in another centre half, be it on loan or permanent. Would welcome Craig Dawson and up front, maybe someone like David McGoldrick to replace the departing Davies. A fit and raring to go Mellis would also be like a new signing.
tom pope should be main priority if davies goes also a decent centre back who can head a ball, mcgoldrick been on loan in league 1 so he wouldnt mind playing at championship level? also earnshaw is looking for a new team on loan, he has experience with west brom, cardiff, wales, he'd definitely put ball in back of net given the chance
Think we have to be realistic and if Davies's new club has any sense it will be a small fee based on additions for appearances and goals. So do not hold your breath about a big fee.
Depending on cost woul like to see clayton Donaldson from brentford replace Davies has stricker, Andrew shinnie from Inverness, and a strong commanding centreback whoever he is
